Used Book Sale

The Friends’ annual Used Book Sale is recognized as one of the best events of its kind in the southeast. The sale includes both ex-library books and books donated by the general public. All categories are well-represented and include cookbooks, travel, children’s, fiction, romance, mystery, nonfiction, drama, religion, sports and games, and regional. Except for specially priced books, all adult hardback books are $2.00, trade paperbacks are $1.00 and mass market paperbacks are $.50. Hardback children's books are $1.00 and paperbacks $.50.

Several factors contribute to our continuing success with this project, our primary fundraiser. We receive excellent publicity and support from our sponsors, who have included the Knoxville News Sentinel and WBIR Channel 10. And nearly one hundred volunteers generously give their time and energy.

Volunteer!

Friends@Rothrock Used Bookshop
The Book Sale Committee needs volunteers to work one, four-hour shift per month at our recently opened used book store, Friends@Rothrock Used Bookshop.
Annual Used Book Sale
The Book Sale needs volunteers to pick up books and sort books throughout the year. Volunteers are also needed to staff the annual sale and help with publicity and organization.
To volunteer, contact Book Sale Co-Chairs Maggie Carini (  hometownmed@comcast.net ) or Jean Idell ( idellj@bellsouth.net ) or the Friends office at 215-8775 or info@friendsoftheknoxcolib.org.

Donate Books

Books to be donated can be taken to any branch library. We accept all books except damaged, soiled or mildewed books.
